2004 was a challenging year for Youth for Technology Foundation (YTF), but with your unyielding support and good wishes, we have made significant progress in our mission to create enriched learning communities by providing disadvantaged youth in rural areas with the technology, educational tools and resources they need to unlock their potential.

TechTeens Graduate from the Owerri Digital Village
|
December 15, 2004 – Youth for Technology Foundation’s, Owerri Digital Village (ODV) held a graduation ceremony for the TechTeens program participants. The youth were honored for their hard work, dedication and commitment to the program and in reaching their potential.

The TechTeens program trains students, ages 13 through 18 in computer appreciation and fluency.

YTF partners with SchoolNet Africa and Mtandao Afrika
|

Mtandao Afrika is the first Pan African Internet Challenge based on the international ThinkQuest competition for teams from Africa.
The program focuses on interactive, collaborative learning and at the same time participants develop skills to create webpages on topics that are most relevant to them and their local communities.

Owerri Digital Village Youth Participate in International Education Week

November 15, 2004 - More than 300 students from underserved communities in the United States, Nigeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan and South Africa participated in a special 10-week program sponsored by the John C. Ford Program, Inc. – GEI Project.
YTF is a partner of the John C. Ford Program and the Owerri Digital Village is a Ford Program international education hub.
This initiative, the Global e-Cyclopedia Tele-Community Program, has been implemented at public schools and in community technology and learning centers. The project integrates computer technology, Internet research, multicultural collaboration and reasoning skills in the production of creative presentations and websites designed by the participating youth.
