United States
Our work in the U.S. has been focused on maximizing the potential of appropriate technology to help low-income people improve their lives and join the economic mainstream. Through partnerships with schools, after-school communities, non-profit organizations and affordable housing owners, YTF offers access to information, resources and tools designed to help low-income individuals and families improve their standard of living.
Many of the people that we work with are at-risk youth, have low academic drive and live in government-supported affordable housing across the U.S. In partnership with other organizations and with input from local schools and community members, YTF has designed curricula and programs that center on interdisciplinary real world science and technology projects encouraging disadvantaged participants to develop cognitive reasoning, communication and business skills, as well as technology proficiencies.
YTF has worked with several schools and after-school communities in the U.S. including; St. Anthony’s Elementary School (Long Beach, CA), Olmsted Academy South (Louisville, KY), Boys and Girls Club of Greater Dallas, South Seneca Public Schools (Ovid, NY) and St. Lawrence Regional School (Lindenwold, NJ).
