CTLC In-A Box
"Nearly every problem has been solved by someone, somewhere."
~Bill Clinton, Former U.S. President
Until only a few years ago, one of the major barriers to social inclusion was illiteracy. Although this continues to be so, we are also faced with another kind of illiteracy today that is related to the acquisition of information and communications technologies (ICT) skills. With ICT's constantly changing the world as we know it, these technologies are now becoming the fundamental pillars of social change, education, economic growth and global competitiveness.
Community Technology and Learning Centers (CTLC's) are organized to bring together, under one roof, a variety of services aimed at enabling social inclusion through necessary support and prevention initiatives. People in developing countries are full of vitality, intelligence and hopes for achieving a better life.
Community Technology Centers are synonymous to highways that lead them to development, progress and well-being, so that they can help us build a just society -more equal, but most of all, more inclusive.
The CTLC-in-a-box paradigm is YTF’s simple, yet innovative and potent idea to transform community technology in developing countries and low-income communities. In this model, YTF partners with grassroots organizations to effectively replicate the community technology model in various regions of the world.
This model significantly reduces the duplication of efforts around the establishment of similar centers with little or no collaboration and resource sharing between organizations.
