Joanne Ntuk

JoanneNtuk-HSJoanne received by MA in Educational Technology from California State University Long Beach. Joanne is responsible for YTF’s ePal projects and she has a keen interest in advancing global digital learning for students of different cultures and countries and computer technology professional development for teachers in K-12 schools.

After obtaining her first degree in Biology, Chemistry and Philosophy from Seattle University, Joanne joined the Peace Corps. As a Peace Corps Volunteer Teacher, she had a unique opportunity to teach with only chalk, a blackboard and her own personal notes. The first school she taught in was a new girls’ secondary school with no textbooks in Calabar, Nigeria.

In addition to raising 5 children, Joanne also worked for fifteen years as a medical technologist, fourteen years as a volunteer youth teacher and catechist leader for the Catholic Cambodian community in Long Beach, ten years as a digital document creator for Kinko’s / FedEx Kinko’s and also spent sometime as a computer lab director and teacher for an elementary school (K-8).

Joanne has a passion for using her teaching and technology skills to integrate technology into the digital learning environment for students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
