Rlabs Nigeria is a YTF program organized in partnership with Rlabs South Africa. The goal of Rlabs is to teach youth how to use social media for health and to disseminate messages of hope. Young people, ages 15 – 22, are trained to use social media to share information about health issues in their communities. Workshops provide training on online ethics and cyber/online protection.
Rlabs uses games, skits, role-playing and group discussions to personalize information, explore attitudes and practice skills that were taught during the workshops.
During post-evaluation surveys, participants consistently have demonstrated a 95% increase in their technology skills as measured by “social media for change” and “social media for advocacy”.
