Switzerland, January 20, 2014 – Youth for Technology Foundation (YTF) Founder and Chief Executive Njideka Harry will participate in two key discussions this week at the 2014 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, highlighting pillars of YTF’s work – opportunities for youth and social entrepreneurship – to thought leaders and changemakers from across the world.

Harry will first contribute to a private discussion with Microsoft and the Rockefeller Foundation, titled “Creating Opportunities for Youth.” The conversation will attempt to balance the uncertainty of the future of education, employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for youth with the great opportunity to harness the potential of youth to improve their chances in life. Harry expects to address “the ways in which YTF and other nonprofits can work together to catalyze sustainable ICT-enabled employment opportunities and skills training for high potential but disadvantaged African youth, thereby generating social and economic opportunities for those employed, their families and communities.”

To highlight ideas and activities integral to YTF’s impact, Harry will next join a panel with the Schwab Foundation and The Huffington Post, titled “The View from Davos: Social Innovation in 2014 and Beyond.” This panel will feature disruptive innovators who have led the way in developing bold and innovative solutions to the big social and environmental issues facing the world.

“I’m thrilled to share some of YTF’s key learnings about youth in communities as critical ingredients in our work at YTF,” Harry stated. “I believe technology is changing the way we approach social problems, and am grateful for the opportunity to discuss additional opportunities technology will bring to social innovation efforts of the future.”

Interviews will be aired live from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and Huffington Post.
