It is with a very heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Madame Frances Pearl Cash-Ugwuegbu, the mother of YTF President and CEO Njideka Harry, on June 16, 2015.

Madame Cash-Ugwuegbu played an instrumental role in the founding and early beginnings of YTF, through which she touched the lives of hundreds of thousands through her guidance.

YTF wouldn’t exist today without her relentless support of the work we do, especially in the area of education technology and entrepreneurship.

“Every girl should have a picture of a woman entrepreneur, someone who is driven by conviction for her product or service and who plays an active role in her community and in the world at large,” Harry stated. “My mother was the very first woman entrepreneur I knew. She was a role model for women in entrepreneurship and displayed a sense of fulfillment, joy, love, grace and commitment. Most of all, she loved her family deeply and her over six decades of walking with the Lord.”

“Madame was a tower of strength, dignity and inspiration for her family and all of us at YTF. Her family and the organization have always reflected on her integrity, warmth and mentorship. She leaves a legacy of love and leadership. Our thoughts and prayers are with Njideka and the entire family,” said Don Okonny, CEO of Sagamy LLC and member of YTF’s Board of Trustees.

YTF will make an announcement later this week on our first step to honor her life with the work we do. Stay tuned for more details.
