One of the interesting ideas involved strengthening YTF’s relationship with p rivate sector companies in Nigeria and with corporations in the United States through employee giving campaigns. The chapter also agreed to organize U.S. based fundraising drives. Much of the meeting time was spent getting acquainted with one another and sharing stories from volunteer experiences.
Sri Arumugam and Tristan Hromick spoke about their 2003 trip to Nigeria during which they spent several enjoyable weeks as volunteer trainers at the Owerri Digital Village. “Volunteering for a grassroots organization such as YTF often presents one with opportunities to meet wonderful individuals and create special friendships,” Sri stated. This meeting certainly demonstrated that.
